First Solo for Margaret Borth!

This afternoon Margaret Borth defied gravity in our trusty Cessna 172 N6605D. It was a beautiful day, light winds, and medium traffic at Oakland Airport. Hats off to Maggie and make sure to congratulate her if you see her in the clubhouse or at the next BBQ! Great Job.

She even commented how her landings were much better without the dead weight and hot exhaust that originates from the right seat.

First Solo for Troy Tompkins!

Troy First SoloYesterday (3-22-2014) Troy Tompkins was relieved of the extra dead weight and hot air that is immediately to his right. He performed 3 touch and goes on a busy afternoon with beautiful weather (although a tad bump at TPA) flawlessly.

In his own words upon engine shutdown and door opening..”It floated like a bird in the flare”.

Great Job Troy!

Congratulations Susan!

Despite being thrown several curveballs as the Oakland Tower switched runways and traffic patterns, on this warm Autumn afternoon Susan Bell unceremoniously dumped her Flight Instructor on the side of Runway 9R, and experienced the joys of solo flight for the first time, executing 5 very nice touch and go’s.

Congratulations Susan!
