New Private Pilot: Ted Waddelow

I’m happy to announce that Ted Waddelow passed his private pilot check ride today.

After a “really good” oral exam performance, Richard Conté (DPE) failed the GPS in 9UL and had them divert to KEDU for pattern and air work shenanigans before returning to KMCC.

Thanks Andrew for keeping the aircraft on the ground the day before this check ride, to make sure the 100 hour inspection requirement would not be an issue.

Congratulations Ted!

New Private Pilot: Benj Bellon

I’m happy to announce that Benj Bellon passed his private pilot check ride on Wed, June 12!

Benj went in with a 98% score on his written and, as expected with such a high written exam score, the oral portion was super fast.
After less than 1.5 hours flying time, Rich Conte (DPE) deemed Benj “a very good pilot”.

Congratulations Benj!

New Private Pilot: Xin (Frank) Qi

I’m happy to announce that Frank passed his private pilot check ride with flying colors on Thursday, June 6.

Frank went in with 93% score on his written, the oral took one hour and the actual flying part took little over an hour (1.1 tach).

Rich Conte (DPE) deemed the event: “one of the top 2 check rides I’ve done in the past couple of years.”

Congratulations Frank!

New Private Pilot: James Welch

There is nothing like the feeling of passing a Checkride!

HUGE Congratulations to James Welch, Alameda Aero Club’s newest Private Pilot! James called me up a little over a month ago to see if I could get him through his Checkride on the fast track. He leaves for Army basic training on October 8. I knew it would be tight but we got’er done! Also a big shout out to DPE Ken Cobb in Columbia. He gives a very thorough Checkride, and is always a pleasure to work with!

New Private Pilot: Carlos Cuesta

Two days, two Private Pilots! Huge congratulations to Carlos Cuesta! On this smoky, funky day Carlos got’er done with DPE John Ewing. It took a while, but Carlos hung in there, and I couldn’t be any prouder of him!
